Job Posting – Seasonal and Full-Time Staff Wanted

AquaTerra Environmental Ltd. has a variety of existing projects currently underway with additional multi-year largescale projects ensuring continued seasonal and full-time positions for 3-5 people including seasonal fish and amphibian salvage work as well as environmental monitoring and reporting during the spring, summer and fall months, as well as environmental auditing, reporting and environmental quality management for infrastructure projects including highway widening/improvement works, Skytrain extension works, and a variety of local and regional environmental monitoring and management projects.

Our spring/summer/fall works include regulatory permitting and management/monitoring of species at risk including Oregon Spotted Frog, Western Painted Turtle, and Pacific Water Shrew associated with municipal works, as well as Metro Vancouver projects relating to park upgrades. These seasonal works also require experience with fish/fish ID and electrofishing/fish salvage and a background in environmental monitoring and water testing.

We’re looking for eager self starts with relevant environmental monitoring, management and permitting experience (as assets), that can take their existing experience and apply it to other similar sites. 

We offer a hybrid work program with a mix of field and office work and work from home, requesting 1-2 days of office work a week. As a smaller consulting firm, we offer the ability to be exposed to various facets of consulting, from proposal writing and start up, to initial management plan authoring, through to the onset of project commencement and management, through to reporting, meetings, mitigation strategies, effectiveness monitoring and closure.

Qualifications:

  1. Report writing and Environmental Assessment skills;
  2. Experience in Environmental Compliance and Environmental Consulting;
  3. Attention to detail and strong analytical skills;
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  5. A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field;
  6. RBTech, RPBio, or qualifications to obtain a certification as a QEP / AQP; 
  7. Certifications in relevant areas (Environmental Monitoring, Erosion & Sediment Control) etc.; and
  8. Electrofishing Certification.

 

Salary Range: $32-40/hour
