Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC)
AquaTerra personnel are members of the Erosion and Sediment Control Association of BC and have obtained their Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (BC-CESCL) certifications. ESC has become an integral component of numerous construction and infrastructure projects as well as emergency and in-stream works. Municipalities and regulatory authorities often require submission of an ESC plan (may be a component of an Environmental Management Plan [EMP] for large-scale projects) prior to the onset of work.
AquaTerra personnel have completed ESC plans for numerous projects including large infrastructure projects as well as commercial, industrial and multi- and single-family residential development projects. AquaTerra develops site-specific ESC plans, which are contingent on local area conditions including topography, hydrology, soil conditions (surficial geology), existing stormwater infrastructure as well as proximity to vegetated areas and watercourses. AquaTerra recommends recognized, cost-effective ESC products designed to reduce turbidity and Total Suspended Solids (TSS) levels in surface water prior to leaving the site. ESC plans are developed to comply with municipal by-laws and federal guidelines and Best Management Practices (BMPs).
